We welcome thoughtful pitches from writers who notice the human details of travel and can turn them into a clear, specific story. A strong contribution gives readers a sense of place without pretending one visit can speak for everyone.

What we welcome

We are interested in reported travel narratives, close observations of local life, stories about changing plans and pieces that explore how a journey unfolds. We welcome varied destinations and modes of travel, including nearby journeys, as long as the idea has a distinct point of view.

A useful pitch

Tell us the proposed story in a few sentences: what happens, where it is set, what makes this angle worth reading and what you can contribute to it. Mention any access or sourcing considerations and whether the piece has appeared elsewhere. Please pitch the story, not a finished generic itinerary.

Send proposals through the Contact page and choose the editorial question option. Include a short description of relevant experience only where it helps us understand your approach; no credentials are required. We cannot promise acceptance or a response by a particular date.
